-The Unprecedented Music Association-
As an Associate Member of UMA, I focus exclusively on Graphic Design. This collection of work aims to reflect the organization’s vision and the concept of each concert. For the 2025–2026 season, each concert will be inspired by one of the five senses, and I am exploring how to translate “sensory perception” into visual design.
Visions
The concert “Visions” is a piano performance centered on the sense of sight. It also involves a collaboration with a visual artist, exploring how their visuals coexist with the piano. Based on these discussions, I aimed to create a design that conveys a sense of movement even in still images. I achieved this by layering spiral shapes in various colors with blur, suggesting continuous, randomized motion. Licks!
The concert “Licks!” is inspired by the sense of taste.
It includes collaborations with two bands and features the fusion of small bites and music, highlighting the talents of one UMA member. I carefully considered how to visually represent both the music–food collaboration and the interaction with the two jazz bands.
The design incorporates a retro aesthetic to convey the sophisticated atmosphere of jazz while adding a sense of mystery that sparks curiosity about the concert.
Key Change
“Key Change” is held as a donation campaign. Since it takes place during the holiday season, I aimed to convey both a sense of winter and warmth. At the bottom of the design, I included musical staves that seem to dance, symbolizing the organization’s dynamic future and ongoing growth.
