Echo-Systems
-The Unprecedented Music Association-
This project is a promotional visual design created for Echo-Systems, part of a concert series by UMA exploring the interaction between music and the five senses. While previous concerts focused on visual and taste-based experiences, this installment centered on the relationship between hearing and music.
The primary challenge was to translate an intangible experience into a visual form. Both sound and perception are not directly visible, yet they are deeply felt. In addition, the concert introduced the theme of an “ecosystem,” requiring the design to communicate interconnection, complexity, and flow.
To address this, the concept of “echo” was used as the central framework, representing how sound is perceived, extended, and transformed. The visual system integrates elements of hearing, music, and nature, balancing clarity and ambiguity—qualities inherent in both echoes and natural systems.
The color palette centers on green and white to evoke a natural environment, while gradients and soft, landscape-like forms introduce depth and spatial continuity. Subtle blurred textures create controlled irregularity, suggesting movement and complexity. Fine linear elements placed between the logo and title reference sound waves or ripples, reinforcing rhythm within the composition.
Typography functions as a structural element, reflecting the idea of an ecosystem as a network of relationships and cycles. Through these elements, the design translates an abstract sensory and conceptual theme into a cohesive and consistent visual language.
